-Opening windows instead of AC has been better for my family this week. The past week has been rainy and there has been no need to use the AC. When it becomes hot I'm sure that the success will be the same as last week. Last week we did well except for when there was no breeze, then turning on the AC was a necessity.
-Cutting back shower time has been doable. Sometimes a reminder from someone in my family to make sure to lessen shower time has been very helpful and a positive impact just like last week. We have been able to maintain this progress and hope to improve without reminders; just out of habit.
-Recycling more has been a great success for my family through both weeks. We have moved onto recycling paper, plastic, and bottles as apposed to just bottles. My family has greatly increased the amount of recycling we do, and lessened the amount of reusable materials that go into the trash. We hope to keep this us in the future and maybe graduate to even composting.
-Unplugging electronics has been great for my family. We have started unplugging everything possible when not using it. My family has been good at remembering and has only need one or two reminders over the past two weeks.
-Turning off water when not needed when brushing teeth, doing dishes, washing hands, and fixing, dripping faucets has worked but sometimes we're forgetful both last week and this week. My family and I have left the water on when brushing teeth for example and needed a friendly reminder to turn it off when not needed. We hope to make more of a habit of this as time progresses and maybe limit our use of water.

How Energy Saving Has Been Working For My Family Week #1
-Opening windows instead of AC has been a struggle for my family. We've done well at opening the windows when there is a breeze, but when it's just straight humidity and no breeze, opening the windows has done nothing but let in hot air. When this happens turning on the AC or plugging in fans has been a necessity.
-Cutting back shower time has been doable. Sometimes a reminder from someone in my family to make sure to lessen shower time has been very helpful and a positive impact.
-Recycling more has been a great success for my family. We have moved onto recycling paper, plastic, and bottles as apposed to just bottles. My family has greatly increased the amount of recycling we do, and lessened the amount of reusable materials that go into the trash.
-Unplugging electronics not in use has also been successful for my family. We have all done a good job of only using plug in electronics when needed and unplugging them when we don't need them.
-Turning off water when not needed when brushing teeth, doing dishes, washing hands, and fixing, dripping faucets has worked but sometimes we're forgetful. My family and I have left the water on when brushing teeth for example and needed a friendly reminder to turn it off when not needed.
I'm sure that when my family get's better at getting into the habit of doing the following things we'll do even better at saving energy.
